Protein and fiber packed flourless black bean brownies. Fudgy, delicious brownies without all the guilt. No one can tell they’re made with beans!
Ingredients
- 1 15-oz can organic black beans, drained and rinsed very well
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup quick oats
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/4 cup coconut oil
- 2 tsp alcohol-free pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 F.
- Combine all ingredients except chips in a food processor, process until completely smooth.
- Stir in the chocolate chips, then pour into a prepared 8″×8″ pan.
- Bake 18 minutes.
- Remove from oven and cool completely before cutting. If they still look a bit undercooked, they can be chilled in the fridge overnight to firm up.

Adjustments but very good
I made these exactly following the recipe and they were needing something. So second time, I added 1/2 tbsp more cocoa and a tablespoon more coconut oil, as well as one more teaspoon of vanilla. I of course used pure maple syrup, dark, but I also added a few drops of liquid monk fruit sweetener. Second batch was wayyyyyy better. Oh I also used Lilly’s sugar free chocolate chips for each batch. Yum.
Very good start
Made these tonight- very easy to do. I’d probably increase the cocoa a bit, as well as the coconut oil and vanilla. Overall though, it’s tasty and as with many vegan brownies, these are way better when they’re chilled in the fridge.
In love!
These are absolutely delicious and my family loves the health benefits! Having extra fiber is always a win in our book! Thank you for making nourishing recipes delicious!
Black bean brownies
All I can say is WOW they are amazing, delicious so good I made another batch husband was shocked how good they were. It is so nice to have sweet I myself highly recommended them And they do not harm my liver
Not bad!
They did feel dense, but that is because I may have over mixed them in the blender. Otherwise, a great way to enjoy desserts and not harm your health!
